As the first 24h come to an end, there can be no complaints aside from the temperature. The 4 pioneers this year (uncle Dewey, uncle Bradley, uncle Derek, and cousin AJ) have been absolutely slaying the fish. Thus far the catch count is 50 walleye, 7 perch, and 1 pike. There have been some keepers along the way and plenty of action in the hut. There has been no outdoor fishing as of yet. Over night the temperature dropped to a frigid -37.9C. That’s almost cold enough to freeze propane, our heating source, which was of mild concern.
As we await the remainder of the group and their arrival, we’re certain the fishing will continue to be spectacular. More updates soon.
Oh, we also have a twitter account now thanks to uncle Dewey. Follow that shit for some funny 140 character thoughts. You can find it @IceDrinking on the twitters….
