Always something new when you get this group together.  This year it was the great move.  Garnet asked us just after Noon Satruday if we wanted to move from the temporary location to the usual reef and without hesitation we all agreed.  This left us homeless and fighting the elements of a front which moved in as we waited for our hut to be setup in the new location.  Garnet and Rob finished the job quickly and within the first half hour of dropping lines in the new holes the bite was on.  In fact this was likely the best stretch of Walleye fishing our group has had in the 14 years we have been with South Shore Ice Condos.

The bite didn’t end until about 9:30 in the evening and when it did the 6 of us were within 4 fish of our limit.  Add to that the fact that we through back a number of fish in the slot and a number deemed to small to keep and the totals were unbelievable.  Still don’t believe the bite was good .. get this … Uncle X9 was even catching walleye!  Add to the stellar fishing the company of good folk, 2 football games and a couple of hockey games and it was the best Saturday on the ice I can recall.

Thanks to our hosts, Cara Lee and Garnet (along with Rob and Justin), and the boys who made this years pilgrimage for an unforgettable trip in 2012.  If you missed this one applications are currently being accepted for the 2013 edition booked for January 3rd to 6th.
